Black Men Magazine could be described as Playboy for the darker set. If you’ve ever found yourself flipping through a skin mag and lamenting that there just weren’t enough brown-skinned girls in it for your tastes, then Black Men Digital was made for you.

Once you login to the site, the layout is very clean and easy to navigate. Teasers for coming updates are at the top of the page with the latest updates below that. Models are categorized by race and broken down to a much more granular level than other sites. Instead of the blanket category of Latinas, you have Brazilian, Cuban, Dominican, Puerto Rican, etc. If you have a particular model that you’re looking for, there is also a helpful A-Z index where you can browse for your favorite girl. Those of you who are familiar with ethnic models and video vixens will recognize girls like Esther Baxter, Jessica Rabbit, and Buffie the Body.

The member’s area is updated weekly with a new photo set or video. My only complaint is that some of the photo sets seem a bit skimpy, with the smaller photo sets having as few as two or three photos and even the larger photo sets tapping out at no more than 11 photos. On the other hand, I noticed that the videos are often really long, sometimes clocking in at as much as 263 minutes (over 4 hours).

Right now there are five videos inside the members’ area. Two of them feature Coco (Ice-T’s wife) in the behind-the scenes videos from her photo shoots. If I’m being honest, the videos are kind of lackluster. There’s only so much you can watch of a chick posing for a photo shoot before it gets boring. Because the videos are usually pretty long, they’re cut into clips and you can stream or download them in the following formats — Flash HQ, Flash Low, Flash Medium, WMV HQ, WMV Medium, WMV Low, and iPod-ready. The iPod-ready version can be downloaded to your iPhone or iPod so that you can take these movies with you on the go.

Photos are really the focus of this site. Even though the galleries are small, there are a lot of them. There are currently 726 photo sets inside the member’s area. The models are a good mix of black, white, and Latinas as well as models, actresses and other entertainment industry celebs. The photos come in two sizes. You can choose to view the 800 pixel version of the photos or the 1024 pixel version. You can download full photo galleries as a .zip file if you come across some pics that you want to save to your hard drive.

Along with the extensive photo and video archive, there are also back issues of the magazine. The magazine will open and you can flip through the pages just like a real mag. You’ll be able to see the pictorials and read the articles just as if you were holding the magazine in your hands.
