Boy World

The first thing that struck me when I entered this site was the date of the most recent video update: May 2007, ten months previous to my visit. The vintage area appeared to have been updated in 2006 but there were no dates on the galleries, so I don’t know when they were last added to. Is this, then, a site that has been built and then left to fend for itself or will more updates be coming soon? Who knows. We shall just have to go with what we have.

And what exactly do we have? Well, there are three parts to the members’ area, so it shouldn’t take long to scout around and see what you get for you money. Boys, yes, there are plenty of them. Take the videos area, which is where you arrive when you log in: You have four covers per page and a text description of the action involved in the movies. I have to admit that I didn’t recognise the titles of these movies; there was no information about studio (other than the notice that these are Boy World Exclusive Videos), models or release dates so you are left in the dark somewhat as to information about what you are seeing. But, having said that, the thumbnails and covers speak for themselves as far as content goes and there are plenty of sexy young teens and twinks adorning the index pages. Click one and you will come to the page of viewing options. The movies are available in scenes that you can stream on line – once you have entered your username and password. (You must do this each time you want to view and there is no download option, so these titles are definitely protected and you will have to remain a member to view them.)

Each one opens in a Real Player screen so you should be able to change the size of the screen and even click it up to full size. The sound quality is good and so is the filming, editing and general standard of production, so no complaints there. I did find the process a bit clumsy and at the back of my mind was what would happen if/when I’d seen all the movies? Those update dates kept ringing in my ears and I was seriously worried that if I remained a member I would not receive any new content in return for my recurring membership. So I concluded that there was a small, but good, collection of exclusive streaming scenes here and that I should make the most of them while I could.

But the tour had also promised us some throwbacks to the ‘70s and 80s and I was keen to see the kind of porn that people used to look at all those years ago. I clicked on to the Vintage Vault to have a snoop around at what this site had on offer here. Basically I found a set of 48 galleries containing old photos. The size of them was fine, 600 x 800, and they certainly looked old. I don’t mean that they were in black and white or sepia or anything, but you can tell from the style of photography, hair and clothing that these have not been faked. It’s not exactly hard-hitting content, but it is interesting and erotic. There are plenty of young, long-haired beach dudes to view, enough big dicks and cute asses to keep you happy and if you are a collector of ‘old’ porn then you really should give it a go. Don’t expect digital quality pics, of course, but generally the images are perfectly viewable.

Which, sadly, is more than can be said for some of the images in the other galleries. These are the galleries that, as the tour did say, are collections of screen shots taken from the exclusive movies. These open at 654 x 480 in size and tend to be on the grainy, pixilated side of the tracks. I could also point out that there are no slideshow options with any of the galleries, each pic opens individually in a new window, but looking at the positive side they are easy to navigate and do let you see step by step and in detail the scenes from each movie as it unfolds.

So I was left with mixed feelings about this site. The name of the site conjures up a land of plenty, plenty of boys that is, but what is actually contained in the members’ area is rather limited. It comes across as the site that time forgot; a collection of decent enough content that has been left out there for nearly a year. There is no update news, there is a contacts page and an ‘About’ page, but very little other information about the site or its content. The Vintage material is rather limited too, being only images, but it is a record of some of those bygone days and the material will interest collectors.
