Part of Vaniity's unique appeal — aside from her otherworldly beauty — is that she's one of the few transgender performers to ever cross over into the mainstream. You might have heard her in soft voice on the Howard Stern show, or maybe you saw those lovely curves in her first national television appearance on The Man Show. Of course, her presence in the adult entertainment industry is huge, too, having won the T.S. Performer of the year award. Whether this is due to raw beauty or just some intangible thing, I don't know. But one thing's for sure — it's one hell of a resume. Certainly good enough to draw loads of members. But is it enough?

Well, if you're going to cast stones at Vaniity, it won't be for a lack of trying. Just one look at the niche categories — which, by the way, are pretty busy across the board — you'll see just how prolific she really is. And did I mention versatile? Videos and pictures are currently broken up into 5 categories: Candids, Friends, Softcore, Hardcore, and Non-nude. Now, that might not look like much at first glance, but once you really dig in you'll find that old girl is working a lot of sub-genres and fetishes; everything from bondage and fantasy role-playing to glossy magazine style glam shots. Perhaps being such a well rounded performer is the secret to her success? It's either that or the dick.

But a nice pair of tits and a meaty cock aren't enough for winning site, no matter how enticing that combination may seem. Which is why Club Vaniity is offering their video latest updates in 6 different viewing options, including 3 different resolutions — two of which are high-definition and one that's specially made to suit a multitude of mobile devices. And while there's no synopsis, each scene has a user rating and, backing up my earlier theory about Vaniity packing them in, plenty of telling comments from your fellow members.

The same can be said for the photo galleries. We're given a wide range of styles to choose from, and although there's only one resolution option, it's a good one with dimensions of 1,800 x 1,000 pixels. What's more, since most of these shoots are fairly recent you can look forward to crystal clear digital shots; which means you'll get to enjoy every glorious detail of V's bod — not to mention it's a testament to her confidence in the "authenticity" of her look. Either way, though, the latest updates look fantastic.

On the flip-side of the coin, there's a huge drop in quality once you go a few years back in the archive. All those sexy formats drop like flies the farther back you go, and with only 60 videos and 169 photo galleries, that means there's a lot of low quality scenes and sets in the mix. For instance, in the oldest of the updates — which, in case you're wondering, date back to mid '04 — are available in a single MPEG-4 file with a pathetic 320 x 240 resolution. You have to wonder why they were so slow at catching up with the times, but I guess we can at least be thankful they finally snapped out of it, eventually adding those awesome 720 and 1080p H.D. options.

Now, if only they'd do the same when it comes the site's look and navigation, and we'd be on our way to a really solid site. As is, if it weren't for the H.D., I'd have to wonder if I'd landed in some strange Internet time warp that leads to 1998. The whole site just needs a makeover. So much just feels wrong — from the general look and feel of the pages, to the simple, sometimes chaotic way in which content is organized. This can lead to all sorts of problems. For instance, only being able to browse by category makes it hard to get a clear picture of the update schedule, which probably isn't going to bode well for most people. But all is not lost — these are all easy fixes, and well worth it for a star of this caliber.

Sadly, there's nothing yet offered in the way of bonus material or sites. But Vaniity seems to have a lot of like-minded friends, so I'm not counting out the possibility just yet. Keep your fingers crossed, okay?
