Fierce Dog

It’s always good to be in at the beginning of something so you can see it develop and grow. You have that chance here at this new site. Starting up its members’ area in September 2008, Fierce Dog sets out to do something slightly different. Sure it has videos and pics like all other sites but it presents them in a different way; it’s achieved a balance between good design and good porn.

As long as you've seen the tour you’ve seen the members’ area. When you log in nothing changes, except now you can access the content in its entirety. You’re already on the video page and these videos scroll along, they come with their upload dates so you can check that promise, and they stream in a Flash player. They also download as Flash files should you want to keep them. These are solo jerk off scenes and action ones and they feature some of the guys who appear in the DVDs that the production company releases. At the start of the movies you get a bit of chat so you can get to know the guys a little better, and then things start to heat up. The quality of the movie is chosen for you: the site makes use of Flash and this has some clever way of finding out your connection speed and optimising the stream to suit you. Don’t ask me how it does that but it’s very clever. I had no trouble with the stream at all, simply click the movie you want to see, then the start button, and away you go. The movies ran for between 10 and 15 minutes each, depending on content, and were good quality. For some reason I couldn’t download the files though. If you want to have a go it’s the button at the end of the time slider just below the screen.

Now then, I have to say that the action scenes were a bit of a swizz, at least the ones I saw were. They were more like extended trailers than a full movie scenes and the reason for this is? The reason is because if you want to see the full length version you will have to buy the movie. You have a link on your top menu to the store where you can do this. Also up there is the link to the blog which goes back to 2006. So the site started as a blog advertising the store and now we have a members’ area where you can see new releases before anyone else (edited into long trailers) I assume, and some full length solo scenes. That’s the impression I got from viewing the action videos.

But you can also see the photo galleries and find out more about the guys. On each video page you'll find information about the scene and links to the photos. These run in Flash too and there is a choice of high resolution images and screen shots. The quality is fine and you have a zip file download option if you want to conveniently take the full set. You can also run a slideshow and watch without having to click anything; the images are a medium size but clear.

So we have a blog with loads of information and news plus pictures that anyone can see; we have a DVD store where we can buy hard copy DVDs featuring some of the guys on the tour pages; we have a small set of solo videos and extended action scene trailers and we have photo sets. We also have that annoying thing where the members’ area, being so similar to the tour, keeps the line that invites you to join – that always bugs me. We do also have some other interesting features: the site runs smoothly that’s for sure with nifty Flash wizardry; for example, if you are running a movie and want to look at the galleries, the movie will resume from where you left off when you get back. Click the little dog on the movie console and you'll find other menu options, including a link to the help page –so if you can’t see anything you can check that for advice.

The site also features a model index and there are some well known names in there. Brent Everett and Caleb Carter might ring bells for you if you’re a keep porn fan. Likewise Pierre Fitch and Jeremy Hall who are also in the list. These guys are typical of the kind of athletic, smooth, hung and sexy guys that you can expect to find on the site.
