Gay Male Hardcore

Next to your welcome message on the members’ home page at this site you’ll see a drop down list of seven bonus sites to access which is a nice surprise but something to check out later. First I want to see these hard-core movies and check out their quality and see if the tour promises are lived up to.

Using the left hand menu I went straight to the videos area where I was greeted by 12 thumbnails from the first page of movies. Each thumbnail had the various viewing options beneath it and I could sort the whole database by release date, popularity or ranking. I could also increase, or decrease, the amount of thumbnails per page. One thing I did notice was that I was currently viewing one to 12 of 424, not the 1,900 the tour had mentioned. I assume the other movies are to be found on the bonus sites and feeds and the figures on the tour relate to all sites together. Not to worry, 424 is still quite a lot of viewing time and that is only in this one area.

So, I searched out a movie at random and checked the Gay Male Hardcore viewing options. These start with a Flash Player version which streamed in a new window and was a reasonable size – a little on the small side perhaps but perfectly clear image quality. Next there was an MP4 to download, suitable for iPods and PSPS, and then a low or high resolution WMV file to choose from. Click a thumbnail to see some more details about the movie and to select the ‘view clip’ option. The scenes I saw were divided up for ease of downloading, into smaller clips. These were 30 seconds each in length and were of the lower quality variety. It’s a quick way to get a flavour of a scene. The only streaming version (as such) was the Flash Player, the other files had to be downloaded before you could view them and with files ranging from 20 to 200 MBs you may have to wait some time – depending on your connection speed. But while you are waiting you can go and look at other parts of the site.

Which is what I did. I used the category drop down lists within the movies section to see some different genres of movies but not every category had movies tagged to it – so some genres are ‘empty’ at the moment. Others came up with image content in the absence of video content so I did some random checking there. Again it was a bit hit and miss with some of the more specialised niches – like Redheads or Indian, but others like Hardcore and Twink were well stocked. It seems whether you are in the pictures or the movies area, when you use the drop down lists the related movie titles come up at the top of the page and the image content is further down. Just make sure to scroll everywhere and you'll be fine.

The galleries themselves are well stocked and the individual images opened in new widows to a good size, (666 x 1024 for example) though others were smaller they were just as clear and easy to view. Again there is a wide selection of genres to browse through with more content being added regularly.

This site is not short on neat extra features either which makes it a great site to use. Apart from the search and sort options I’ve mentioned, which include being able to search by studio and porn star, the four download formats and the streaming version of the movies, navigation is easy with the left hand menu. Here you will also find your personal list of favourites as each video can be added to your list; you can also rate each one too and even write a review of it if you feel so inclined. The bottom line is that you, as a member, are encouraged to be involved with the site as much as is possible; a feature I always like. There is the Streaming Video area where you will fine 16 gay feed sites, a link to Full On DVD (straight DVD site), 13 straight Flash games and links to DVD on demand, shopping and live cam sites. These are external so you may have to pay to fully access these extras. There is also a blog which again seems to be mainly straight orientated. I also checked out those bonus sites but found them to contain much of the same content as I had already found on Gay Male Hardcore, still worth a browse around though as you never know what might come up.
