Got Bareback

But there is something strange going on here and I’m not totally sure I’ve grasped what it is. I’ve just clicked to one of the bareback scenes on offer and found a frame filled with thumbnails taken from the movie. If I click on one nothing happens (apart from an error on page message) so I click ‘clear selection’, click on another and several other thumbnails turn from being faded to being full colour. Is this a way of selecting where you want the video scene to start and finish? Double clicking does nothing but I can drag individual thumbnails around the page. Hmm…

Let’s go back to the members’ home page and start again. This page features loads of cool things to click and play with and Got Bareback has gone out of its way to provide you with a truly interactive site. But here’s another strange thing: when I first entered the site I was told there were 3 gay DVDs on offer (this site also has a straight sex section), I checked one and then returned to the home page to find there were now 708 DVDs on offer – where they came from I'm not sure but I'm glad they did. Using the Browse DVDs function and selecting ‘gay’ from the category list I found 53 DVDs and selecting Bareback I found two. So my head was spinning a bit at this point as I wasn’t sure if I should count ‘all DVDs’ as they include straight ones, or bareback ones as that’s what the site title suggests is the main feature or… ah well, at least when you do settle on a DVD to view you get a good set of viewing options.

You really do have a good choice of viewing at this site: WMV streams and downloads, Flash versions and even files suitable for iPods and other portable devices. Each title is neatly arranged into scenes with thumbnails to show you what the action is, there are two qualities of stream/download and it’s simply a question of clicking whichever version you want to view. There is help and support if you have any trouble with the videos and good sized shots of the covers, back and front.

You are also asked to be interactive at this site: you can comment on the movies and even write reviews of them if you so wish. You can add anything you like to your favourites collection and there are so many search and sort options it’s hard to know where to start. Ok so I did get a bit confused with the actual number of movies here but one thing I am sure about, the Got Bareback DVDs are a good quality. You have some good studios providing content here, Colossal and Video 10, and three sites participating. By which I mean you can click to see the content from A Rim With A View and Knight Patrol – so I guess that’s like having two bonus sites at your finger tips.

It would have been good to have a few things explained to me: what’s the set of thumbnails all about? I couldn’t covert them to larger images and why were they faded and then full colour when I clicked on one? Are these intended to be galleries? If so how do I access them? Clicking the ‘picture galleries’ link brings empty pages. Also the numbers were a bit confusing – All DVDs 708 when I clicked Home, 53 when I clicked ‘gay’ and so on and a counter at the top of each page stating 708. Actually there is also another counter counting down to when the next title will be added to this site, which is another neat feature (except that it reset itself to 24.00 each time I returned Home,) and you can have the site translated into any one of five languages.
