I have to admit, I didn’t think I’d like Hardcore Gangstas. The concept seemed a little lame, and I’ve seen rap stars in porn videos before, waving to the camera for a few seconds and then leaving the room when the action starts. The Ice T videos have a lesson, a moral, and a storyline to them, and other rappers should take a lesson in style from this old school pimp if they want to put out their own pornos.

In some of the videos on this site, Ice T reminds me of Rod Serling in The Twilight Zone. He’s sort of the announcer/storyteller character in the videos, and he can walk into a scene and the players can’t see him while he talks to the audience, which is called breaking the fourth wall, something that Serling used to do all the time. For example, there’s a video that starts out with Ice T talking about the escort game and how it works, then it cuts to him in a hotel room sitting near a black businessman who’s flipping through the yellow pages looking for escort ads. Ice tells us this guy’s story and what he’s up to, and the guy is oblivious to Ice being in the room with him, so it’s obvious that like Serling in Twilight Zone, Ice T is only visible to the viewer in these videos, not the characters.

Now the scenes featuring Knockturnal and Tha Realest are a little different, as these guys pretty much just hook up their friends with some hoes.
