Male Octane

A collection it certainly is! A collection of feeds from many other websites so there is no original or exclusive content here at all; but that’s o.k. because we were not promised any. Instead what you have are five links that will bring up lists of sites you can access. These appear in the centre box with the other links and advertisements around them.

There were 17 sites listed on the Male Octane home page and these included the ‘Elite’ series, Hard and Raw and Roman Bathhouse. I have seen some of the Elite series before and they all work in the same way, just with different content. For example clicking on Young Elite you’ll get a new window and a streaming movie theatre which, in this case, delivers you 18 and 19 year old boys in hardcore action. There are five pages, each with four scenes per page. Click a scene and it breaks down further, or you can run the whole show. You have different bandwidths to choose from and you can easily jump to another page from wherever you are. Wait for the movie to ‘buffer’ and then it will start streaming without hiccups. There were some very cute, young and shaved boys jerking off and generally having fun when I was there. The other Elite series include, muscle men, twinks, oral, solo and Latin and there is plenty of good quality theatre to be had there.

You’ll find seventy sites listed in 23 categories here including: cumshots, amateurs, anal, straight guys, toons and reality. And if all this is reading like a set of lists then that’s because that is what the site is. It doesn’t supply its own content but it goes out and finds you what it considers the best of what’s out there and then lists it for you. There are plenty of reality sites to view including the well known Twinks for Cash, the ‘His First…’ series and Gay Blind Date. If you like muscle men then you can pop over to Mark Wolff and view his offerings. It’s not the entire site that you get to see but a selection of clips the webmaster has made available so if you are looking for the full benefits of a muscle man site work out then you’ll need to go elsewhere. But there are some gorgeously toned hunks on this feed and again you get a good choice of players and connection speeds.

It’s difficult to say exactly how many hours worth of video you get at Male Octane, you’d need to go through every single clip to work that one out, but there are stats at the top of the main pages which give you the numbers; 1,500 movies and over 40,000 clips. They also state that there are 345 live guys on the site and I found them at ‘Stroke 4 U’ under the Premium features link. This site offers you private and nude chat with various guys and it even offers free access. But to get to the really horny stuff you’ll need to login and sign up. The other premium features were an on line DVD store and Flirt 4 Free, again requiring additional sign up fees. Therefore we can assume that ‘Premium’ in this case means you have to pay a premium to get full access.

But not to be outdone I went over to the photos department to make more of the membership I had already paid for. There are 16 photo gallery links here in nine categories. Clicking the Bear galleries I found a broken link but clicking the Bear Photos Archive brought me to a page of 20 photo sets featuring older and hairier studs in solo and hardcore images. These clicked up to full size and were a good collection on the whole. There was something wrong with the Asian galleries too, a temporary glitch I hope, but the uniform and Latino sets worked just fine.
Back at the home page at Male Octane you’ll find links to a featured video and photo gallery. The gallery was a general mix of solo and action sets, with navigation buttons and a slideshow option but the featured video only took me to Flirt 4 Free again. To the right of the page were links to two ‘favourites’ where you could basically take the tour of His First Gay Experience and He Likes It Big which you can also find in the Bonus Video area. By now I was feeling that I was going around in circles and my mind was slightly boggled by all the content. So I finished my investigations by checking out the feedback page; here there was a questionnaire asking you to say what kind of things you wanted from the site and it also contained a box for other comments. If you do have problems with broken links it’s a good place to go to let the webmasters know what’s up. After all, it’s your site once you’re in and unless you tell them they won’t know.
