Let’s start with a look at the videos. There were 25 of these at the time of my visit and, with an average run time of 16 minutes each, you have a few hours worth of fetish viewing here. The titles more or less sum up the kind of action you will be seeing, ‘Painful twisting’, ‘Spanking marathon’ and ‘Crucified lover’ for example and each one carries a short description. They don’t carry a health warning though and some of the acts performed here are definitely best left for those who now what they are doing. Just about every conceivable device is in use, from clothes pegs to full face masks and you sure do get what you were promised on the tour in terms of extreme BDSM movies. Viewing them is a question of downloading first but Pain Lessons has found a neat way of letting you sample each scene before you commit to what can be a large file download. There are short scene previews that run in Flash 9 with option beneath to download the full movie or that particular scene. The visual quality is good, though sometimes it’s hard to hear what the guys are saying. Mind you, you’ll first need to work out which language they are speaking, I suspect something East European. But it’s not the basic dialogue that you will want to hear but the slapping of the paddles, the swish of the whips and the rattle of chains.

The thing that did strike me (sorry – no pun intended) about these movies was the performances of the models. I didn’t really get the impression that that were totally into what they were doing. It was almost as if, in some cases, they had never dreamed of doing anything like this before and at times were trying to suppress their laughter. In a way that’s part of the fantasy I guess, the slaves were unwilling ‘victims’ in the masters’ games and yet something didn’t quite ring true about the scenarios. The models themselves, there were 13 in the model index, were a motley crew. Two of the three masters were sexy enough in an amateur way and one of the ‘switches’ had a classic, twink look of innocence but the others were more what I would call character actors, where looks are not an issue. But then again, the site aims for realism and these guys are the ordinary kind of men you would see anywhere.

I bet you are wondering where the sex is in all this? It’s in there but the drive of the site are the bondage and spanking sessions, the foreplay is more important than the sex play though there is enough of that. This site hasn’t yet caught on to the idea that a true fetish site should contain more than just tantalising videos and galleries. If left at that then there is a danger that a site becomes gratuitous and lives only to serve sexual fantasy. That’s ok too but a good fetish site should also carry other information. Such as advice on how to perform these games safely ‘at home’, where to find the gear you will need and possibly even lists of fetish clubs and community groups. If you take your BDSM seriously then you will like the movies and pics but that’s as far as the site goes.
