Photographic art sites are one of my favorite types of sites to review. Photography takes a certain level of skill and these sites separate the wheat from the chaff — the auteur from the perv with a camera. The purveyor of AV Erotica is Anton Volkov, who also is one of the photographers of the much loved photographic art site Met-Art, so you know that his talent is immense.

Every day brings a new girl and a new photo gallery added to the member’s area. The photos are available in three resolutions and sizes &mash; low (667x1000 pixels), medium (1667x2500 pixels), and high (2912x4368 pixels). As you browse the thumbnailed photos, each one opens its full-size photo in a new window. The photos are incredibly crisp and at its largest resolution, you can see great detail, even down to the goosebumps on a girl’s skin. However, the photos could definitely use a better photo gallery with a set of features that allow the user to skip forward and back, go hands-free, and navigate through the photos more easily. Every photo gallery can be downloaded as a .zip file so that you can save your favorites and keep them forever.

Although photos are usually the focus of nude art sites like this one, this site doesn’t neglect the videos. The site is updated once a week with a new high-definition video. Videos come in three formats — Windows Media Video (.wmv), Quicktime (.mov), and high-definition DivX (.avi). Most videos last 8-10 minutes and can be downloaded or streamed from the member’s area. Each one features a backing track of sensual music that plays while the girl poses and strips. Of course, I opted to watch the high-definition (HD) video and couldn’t have been more pleased. The screen size is huge at 1280x720 pixels, the lighting and picture are perfect and frankly, HD is the best way to see these delicious bodies as nature wanted them to be seen.

One of my favorite girls was Anely — an 18 year old Russian girl who has mesmerizing green eyes, a curtain of long dark hair and an even darker patch of hair on her pussy. Volkov did a great photo session of this girl posing nude on a rock (lucky rock!) and she looks completely natural and at ease being nude in the outdoors. So far, there is only one gallery of the lovely Anely, but hopefully Volkov will shoot more of her.

You can browse through all of the girls Volkov has shot via the model index. Each girl is listed with a face shot and clicking further takes you into her bio and a list of all the photo galleries or videos that she has done. The girls are mostly Russian and there are a good mix of blondes and brunettes, amateurs and girls who have modeled nude before. Every one of the girls is all-natural and you won’t find a single implant in the place.

This site also has a blog where the photographer talks candidly about his travels to discover new models and tells you all about his photo shoots. I love little touches like this because it gives you a peek behind the curtain to see the real work that goes into making such a stellar site. One of the surprising things that is revealed in Volkov’s blogging is that because he shoots mostly outdoors, there are often curious onlookers gathered around to watch. The models don’t seem particularly shy and he certainly doesn’t get cited for public nudity as her would if her were in the States. Just one more reason to move to Europe!
