Bruce Seven Films

Once I'd crossed the digital threshold into the membership area of Bruce Seven Films, I was hit over the head with an intoxicating mixture of nostalgia, arousal, and a deep appreciation for the darker side of the pornographic arts.

A lot of you have already seen Bruce's work thanks to Evil Angel, and while those are fine films indeed, they hardly scratch the surface of Mr. Seven's long and storied career. The man was capable of killer creations in a variety of styles and genres, but he is primarily known for his bondage and S&M pictures. If you have ever seen any of them, you know why.

Another Bruce Seven trademark is doubling down on the pretty ladies. He once said that he preferred shooting lesbian porn because that's what he jerked off to. Seems logical, right? And perhaps that's why he always got such spectacular results. All I know is, as I scan through this site's archive, which is made up of nearly 70 percent girl-on-girl material, I see a collection that is bound to please fans of classic bondage and lesbian porn alike.

I like rug munching and bondage as much as the next guy, but this content has an added appeal that really, well, appeals to me: it's retro as can be. A lot of these flicks were shot in the '80s — you know, back when pussies were hairy, fashion was dubious, and films were actually shot on . . . film — so you have the added bonus of getting to see some true legends of porn in their prime.

Not to harp on that retro appeal to much, but I also quite liked how they included a DVD section. The cover art of some of those old flicks was just awesome, and browsing through so many classic titles was akin to being transported back into the porn shops I frequented in my misspent youth.

Just to give the unitiated an idea of what Bruce was all about, you can expect to find all manner kinky action. The masters for a lot of these movies likely don't even exist anymore, and I'm not sure upscaling them to HD would be the proper solution. Still, what I wouldn't give to see some of his early 8mm creations re-mastered in HD. Hey, a guy can dream, right?

In their defense, the SD and mobile files provided look quite good, and unlike a lot of his contemporaries, Bruce shot bondage porn that was well lit and framed. Also, those SD files combined with the network's 7 meg-per-second transfer rates make for fast downloads and seamless streaming.
