Cosplay Deviants

The members’ home page is exactly like the tour, you hardly notice any difference once you are signed in. You can see what is new and what is coming soon, you have the same social networking links and news headlines, and you have a menu to take you straight to the content.

Heading to the Videos area I found 16 short clips, running for two to six minutes each and all shown on one index page with large sample shots. Hover your pointer for revolving pics or click to go straight to the viewing page. The movies here are shown as stream only, which is a bit of a shame, but the quality was fine, though the size varied. I’d say the screens were around 720 x 480 in size and the movies played in Flash. The girls are cute here, there is no doubt about that. They dress in colourful lingerie, they play strip poker, they undress each other from brightly coloured clothes and they are found doing this indoors and outside.

The video content is limited but you do really well in the galleries. There were 481 of them here and whereas there was no info with the videos, these photo sets have dates, so we know they date back to 2007 where images were at 381 x 573 in size. Good quality, lots of shots per set, with numbers varying, good photography, nice lighting and decent quality. Galleries come with easy navigation through each set, though I didn’t find zip files, and the thumbnails are nice and large too. You can make images larger and the more recent ones went up to 800 x 1,200 where the quality remained excellent.

Remember that the site is titled Cosplay Deviants? Well, the deviants are the girls of course and there were 129 of them (including some guys) set out in a model index. Each is shown in her most deviant costume, with her tattoos as many of the girls are also inked, and there is a mix of dressed and nude and semi-nude models here, leading to pages with their activity, links to their photos and some stats.

And it is here where things star to get really interesting as members can send in their own images, make up their own profiles, start their own blogs and really get involved. So you’re not actually looking at a porn site here but a community site where everyone, girls and guys alike, can get involved. Here are the standard rates and comments facilities for the content, but there is also a whole profile setup where you can enter information and share it. There is also a Board for news and announcements and that is really well attended and used, and the site also lets you know when there are to be events taking place. There is a chat area too and links to their store.

And that, for me, was the great strength of the site: it’s not about ogling sexy girls in strange and wonderful outfits, though you can do that, it’s about joining in and meeting new friends, if you want to, and for me, that make this one of the most unique and interactive member sites I've seen for a very long time.
