Purgatory X

Staying true to its name, the membership area of Purgatory X does a good job of remaining neutral in its theme. Better still, it is quite easy to navigate. The main menu sticks to the bare necessities, linking to episodes, trilogies, and photo galleries. The remainder of the page links to the latest updates, giving Heaven and Hell equal page space.

Speaking of which, they've done a fine job of evenly updating both sections. Out of the 152 updates they have posted since October of 2018, they are perfectly evenly split with 16 falling into the hell category, and 16 into heaven.

Just as promised on the tour, there is a stark contrast between the two categories. The heaven scenes have the gentleness and sensuality one would expect, and the hell scenes provide that level of filthiness that really hits the spot when you're feeling a little evil. Best of all, though, they have compelling narratives and a sense of style and production values that harks back to the golden age of porno.

In fact, these storylines can get so darn elaborate that they have already deemed it necessary to release multiple trilogies. I think my favorite so far is the one entitled My Husband Convinced Me, which, as you probably already guessed, comes from the hell series. It stars the super talented Jaye Summers, Charles Dera, and Donnie Rock. The plot is a simple one: Charles wants to talk his prude wife into making his buddy bust a load. She's reluctant at first, which makes all the hotter when she ultimately caves in to the pressure. I can't wait to see what happens in episode 2.

This scene has a dark, menacing look to it, and if you were to use only a couple of vague stills to compare it to one of the heaven scenes, you would easily be able to identify which was which. The use of unique color palettes was a great touch, and just one of many stylistic elements helps define these two contrasting categories. Yes, they've really pulled out all the stops here, and it really shows in the final product.

And I suppose it comes as no surprise that they didn't skimp on raw playback quality, either. Members are provided with 4 different options for both streaming and downloading, from a decent mobile file all the way up to a crystal clear 1080p high-definition MPEG-4. Transfer rates were fast, clocking in at 7 megs-per-second, and each scene came with its own multi-paragraph synopsis giving you a nice play-by-play of the action.

Each scene is also accompanied by screen cap and picture galleries, but if you're strictly after the latter, you may as well check out the photos section of the site. There are actually more photo updates than video updates, and you can usually count on somewhere in the neighborhood of 40-80 high-res(2,000 x 3,000 pixels) images.

This site's only major drawback is that, due to the fact it is brand new, there isn't a whole lot of content to speak of just yet. Combine that with the lack of bonus content, and a hesitation to join is understandable. That having been said, I think this site's activity combined with the high level of quality of its content makes for one hell of an investment.
