As with the tour, the membership area of Sensual Pain maintains a primarily black and grey color scheme, intermittently adorned with gritty shots bound victims, creating an atmosphere of bleakness and despair. After the initial shock wore off, however, I noticed something far more concrete beyond all that tantalizing luridness: a website that cranks out high quality updates at a respectably high rate of volume.

Last month alone they added 16 new videos and photo sets. And since the site's debut just two and a half short months ago, they have managed to amass 488 scenes and sets. This is even more impressive once you take into account the ingenuity and unbridled wickedness that goes into the making of each episode — not to mention the sheer variety of fetishes and model-types covered.

For instance, during my stay at the site I noticed all manner of torture device and sex toys being employed. As I mentioned already, they have a lot of the old tried and true favorites, such as the rack and the iron cross, but they also have a few new goodies like a quasi-sensory deprivation device simply dubbed "the box" and several horrifying new twists and amalgamations of historical devices. But the torture isn't just psychological. Au contraire, these sadists sometimes focus on psychological abuse. For instance, I recall one episode where a slave-girl with an obviously filled bladder had to beg her cruel master for what felt like an eternity just for simple relief. Another episode could have easily doubled for a psych evaluation were it not for all those chains and tightly fitting leather outfits.

But let's get back to more conventional means of torture for a moment. My hat goes off to them for finding such marvelous props. All too often bondage sites feature props that look too flimsy, shiny, new. Here, however, the ropes are thick, the chains are rusty, and the torture contraptions are so sturdy and authentic that you can't help but wonder if they are the possession of some sort of time machine.

I also have to hand it to their casting director. Not only are the masters and dominatrixes utterly convincing, but the subbies all seem very much like the sort of meek, submissive types you'd expect to be into high levels of pain and degradation. Also, it doesn't hurt that a lot of these girls are exceedingly pale, assuring that all those whip marks and hand prints show up on film.

Oh, and speaking of the videos, I am happy to report that these scenes are available in a clear and crisp 1080p high-definition. And despite dingy dungeons being a common backdrop, they always seem to have adequate lighting — a notorious problem in the past with BDSM site of this ilk.

But if your connection isn't all that hot or if you just don't care about top-notch playback quality, don't fret. They were also good enough to include some lower resolution mobile and SD options. But if you do have a good Internet connection, you will be happy to hear that their download speeds usually clock in somewhere around 5.5 megs-per-second, which means those 1.5 gig high-quality files should download in no time.

Unfortunately, photos currently cannot be viewed on site, leaving members with the sole option of downloading them in their entirety compressed in a ZIP file. On the bright side, the photos are certainly on par with the quality of their video counterparts, featuring a nicely sized resolution and good enough lighting that you won't miss a single bruise or droplet of sweat.

There really is nothing here in the way of bonuses, but I thought the inclusion of the Intersec Interactive forum was a nice touch. The boards are very active, and I have seen posts as recent as today where mods and other staff have replied directly to members, addressing various requests for future content. They seem genuinely interested in keeping their customers happy, which is quite makes for a humorous contrast given how brutal their content can be.

Honestly, aside from the photos not being viewable on site, there really isn't much to complain about here. Yes, the navigation is a little too simple for my tastes, but the site is still new, and as such I suppose there really isn't enough content yet to justify a whole host of fancy navigational gizmos, anyway. But if updates keep pouring in at their current rate, I can see this being an issue in the not-too-distant future. Just something to think about.
