As soon as you log in to the members’ area here you know that you are in the hands of professionals. There’s a neat top menu with lots to click, and there’s a really neat top slide-bar. This brings you images and information about more than the usual pics and videos, you can tell that these guys are really into their scene. There are also pieces of information about the movies and, as that is also the first menu item, it’s where I went first.

The movies here are set out across index pages, with the page numbers at the bottom, there’s some basic info and a picture to get you started on your choice, and you can also see the upload dates. The site started only recently but already they have a decent stock of classics to view online or to download in two kinds of files, one of which can be run on your iPod. The Flash screen is a good size, some of the download files can be large and the transfer rate was around 70kbps, so there may be some waiting time involved when you are saving a movie, but these are full length videos, running for over an hour, so they are well worth waiting for. You also find a long synopsis of the film, with information about the cast and direction, so this is a proper synopsis, not just a few quick details; and that’s something else that shows that Tribal Male really understands its movies, and its members.

A quick word about the quality of the movies. You have to remember that they were made back in the 1970’s and around that time, and that the tapes are old. The guys here have done their best to re-master them and present them in a digital format, but you are not going to see high definition filming like you do with modern movies. Some of these scenes are dark, grainy and occasionally hard to see. But they are being preserved and that is the main thing. They are all watchable too.

These Bijou Theatre productions are known for sticking to their genre. In the days when these were made, back in the 1970’s, there weren’t words like ‘twink’ but there were words like ‘stud’ and ‘biker men’ and that’s the kind of guy you find in these movies. Hard men, leather and caps, maybe a bit clichéd today, but still hot and horny and well worth meeting. The movies stand up as well now as they did then, the action can be extreme, with fisting and S&M, and the guys may sport over the top moustaches, but these are classics and that’s why we bought into this site – to see just this kind of classic gay porn. It’s Tom Of Finland brought to life.
