Alpha Males

If there is one thing that this site is, it is generous. You have 376 exclusive movies already in your content count and they come with various ways to view. There are also 0 photo sets, over 185 models, 24 extra scenes and backstage footage, wallpapers, a blog and two pages of non-exclusive content as an extra. That’s a decent amount of content and updates are happening every week. My first impression of the site (after counting those numbers) was that it was one that is well designed, well laid out an easy to use.

Your home page starts you off in the usual way with a sample of what is new, some images of what has been recently added and all this comes with dates and some details. You then have a top menu to take you to the videos and other content. The movies are set out across index pages with good sample pics and their upload dates, and you can see straight away if anything here is offered in HD. Some of the more recent movies are, though the older ones are not. You can expect to find a choice of streams though, with sizes of screen available from 480 x 720 up to 1,920 x 1,080 in the HD versions, and there are bit rates from 400 kbps to 5,000 kbps. This is for streaming where you tend to get the better choice of qualities and resolutions. There are also, usually, up to four or five download options with QuickTime, WMV, iPad and iPhone versions up to 4,000 kbps. So, this means that even if you are on a slow connection, you should be able to access these movies on way or another, and your choice of streaming is up to you and what your connection can take.

In terms of quality Alpha Males serves you very well as well. These are story scenes, most of the time, so you get a full episode with a beginning a middle and an ending. The guys do well for acting and the situations, though not the most inventive in the world, serve to set up the chemistry and the action nicely. And visually they are fine too, you can go full screen with no trouble and I had no problems with the videos quality here.

Nor with the quality of the images, some of which which you can click up to larger sizes if you want to. Even at a full size the images remain clear and focused and there is no pixilation. Some of the sets refer to action in the videos so you have a mix of duos, threesomes, groups or solos. In some cases you will see the images beneath the video viewing options when you are streaming or downloading a movie. There are various numbers per set, zip file downloads are available and navigation through the sets is simple enough, though I didn’t see slideshows.

And, of course, you then have to consider the men. The site is all about tough and hunky, hairy and hung guys, but not completely: there are younger and smoother guys in here as well, but these tend to be jocks and preppies, rather than twinks or teens. They too have an edge to them so you are looking at ‘male’ all the way; there’s nothing sissy about even the smooth bottoms on his site.

You will find that the members’ area is mildly interactive: you can make use of the ‘add to favourites’ function as you browse and view, and you are able to rate the scenes as well. There is the facility to change the text language of the site and there are some social networking functions included. You have a category list and a drop-down of models to help you search and sort the content, and other handy links can be found at the bottom of the main pages. Click through the main menu to find your bonuses, extras, your favourites collection, and links to VOD, the blog and other links, and you should find that the members’ area is easy to use and presents no problems.
