Young Straight Boys is a unique site in that it presents you with the kind of guys you don't normally find on gay porn sites. It's been a while since we visited this unique members’ area, and in that time, the site has grown, new features have been added, and some elements that were missing or needed repair have been fixed. The pages are still crammed with thumbnail shots, so you see, for example, all the content on one long page. They are shown with their upload dates and titles, and you can see if the content is a video, gallery or both. A click of a thumbnail gets you straight to a viewing page in a new tab, so you don't lose your index page. Where there were 550 videos last time we were here, there are now at least 810 movies, and the number of galleries has also increased, from 540 to over 790. (It’s hard to count the exact number of galleries.) You can list all videos by date or alphabetically, and another new feature lets you see the last 100 clips to have been added, plus, you can see the 100 that are lined up to come next. The site adds at least one new video/gallery every day.

I refer to some of these videos as clips because they are two or three minutes in length and are parts of a longer video shoot. Some of the older content shows one thumbnail on the index page, but that, when clicked, leads to four or five clips; the whole shoot in its sections. This means, where I counted around 810 ‘movies’, some have more than one clip behind them. You’ll see how it goes when you get to the viewing page. There was only one option for streaming and downloading, and everything I downloaded was at 640 x 480 resolution. However, there are some HD movies here now at 1,280 x 720.

The viewing pages are well organised and full of info. Click a sample image and a new tab opens (that happens a lot here), and there, you see a larger thumbnail. You can ignore the thing telling you that you need a username and password; just click the thumbnail to start the stream (in another new tab). There are options for playback speed, you can keep the screen open and minimised, so you can view and browse at the same time, and there’s an Mp4 download option. These commands are found by using the in-screen three-dot menu. Playback quality is fine, there’s a real amateur feel to everything which gives the right atmosphere, and videos/clips run for anywhere between two and 15 minutes.

Back on the video page, you'll see if there are any images to collect. You can run galleries in slideshows or take the photos one at a time. Zip files of full sets are also provided. Images can be viewed at full size or screen-fitting size, and downloaded, come out at 1,660 x 1,320 px or 2,000 x 1,327; image size can vary, but they were all clear, crisp and focused. You’re also able to see links to each part of the full video shoot and read a detailed description of the boys and his video session. This is provided in English and in French.

The recent improvements to the site include a tidying up of the sign-up page, a guestbook, drop-downs for categories and other search/sort options, and you're now able to access the YSB archive in two bonus areas, one for exclusive content and one for 3rd party photosets. Members can rate the content and add pieces to a favourites area, and if you have any issues or questions, there are links to support.
