There's no DRM on this site like Missy says in the review. Also, the review seems a little harsh to me. This is obviously a movie site catering to dial-up users and not broadband users, and there are still billions of dial-up users in the world, in fact, they outnumber broadband users by about 20 to one. This smaller clips are perfect for dial-up users. |

I have mentioned in other reviews when all that is offered are full length movies for broadband/DSL users that it would be nice to have clips too for the folks still using dial-up, so I'm not against clips. My complaint as you'll read in my review is that on the tour page they made a big deal over full length movies being offered on this site, there were none, that was my major peeve, along with the quality of the clips being so rough. As for the DRM, each clip I clicked on asked for user name and password. |

I've checked the DRM protection thing. You're right Missy, it seems like each movie inside of members area protected: "EVERY time you click on an episode you have to type in your username and password" (pretty annoying) But when I download movie to my PC, it don't require password and therefore not DRM protected. Thank you Kit, I should have mentioned in review that this DRM was under the streaming option of the clips. |

That's not what DRM is. DRM means that when your password to a paysite expires, you can no longer view the movies that you have downloaded to your hard drive. True DRM also prevents you from copying and trading movie files. As for typing in your password every time you try to stream a clip, that's just a security measure that most dedicated servers have. You wouldn't notice this if you used the function of Internet Explorer that remembers your site passwords. With this option enabled, you never have to type in a password on a site again once you've visited it once. |

DRM stands for Digital Rights Management, most sites using DRM never advertise it upfront or the customers will run away. This actually is cheating as we have the right to full discoluse upfront. Case in point is GGG (Germal Goo Girls). Thanks to reviewing sites like us we make the buyer aware before he can be snared in |

Rictor, ghost - you're right about DRM, but what you think abour HotMovies scheme? I guess they offer a wonderful DRM-protected product: over 30.000 full lenght movies available on pay per view scheme. Let's discuss it in the official Hot Movies discussion topic |
