Self Shot Boys

I am going to have to go easy on this site as it is still new, but I do think they could have tempered down their tour to reflect what is actually inside the members’ area, rather than beef it up to be something it is not. In this respect the tour promises us far too much: there isn’t 100Gb of content, there are currently more boys pictured on the tour than you find inside, and you can’t download the videos. But, as I say, it is a new site and it has been updating during the first couple of months it has been online. So there is hope for the future.

Updates are scheduled with one new video a week, and so far that schedule has been kept to. The home page in the members’ area shows you what and who is coming next, and when, and it also shows you some samples of the most recently submitted videos and galleries. The top menu is straightforward, as is the whole of the site actually, and you easily get to the video and gallery content. I went to the video collection and found 52 movies, eight of which were solos and two of which were couples. After selecting a movie you get a nice write up (but the one description seems to have been used for several scenes… oops!), a lengthy description of the scene and then a standard sized Flash player in which to run the movie. There are no downloads, that I could find, and no choices for viewing. A few extras in this viewing area wouldn't go amiss: how about more details about the guy, his stats, where he is from when he sent the video in? And how about some way to comment and thus hook up with other members? Folk who like self-submit sites also like to chat and swap, exchange their experiences and videos, and there is none of that here.

But I do have to say that I found the quality of the movies at Self Shot Boys to be fine. I only had a little ‘start and stop’ as I streamed, the visuals were fine at full screen and the movies I saw looked like they’d been shot on a decent camera. We are also told that the content here is exclusive. In fact the message reads: ‘you can’t find it only in this website’ which is a little confusing, but I know what they mean. So, I did start wondering if these really were self-submitted movies or made specifically for the site. It doesn’t really matter as they all have the appearance of being home made and the boys are cute.

Moving into the photo area, I found 59 galleries. Well, their descriptions called them ‘videos’, another confusion, but they were definitely photo galleries. There were around 100 pics per set and they clicked up to a good size in a Flash screen. They were clear enough and a decent quality, though as you would expect, some that were clearly taken by the model on his phone were a bit rough around the edges. But they do look like the kinds of pics people share on exhibitionist sites, so that was fine by me.

My only worry is that it is not going to take you long to view all this content, with videos running for around 10 minutes (in the main, some were up to 30 mines), it’s not a lot to view as yet, and the photos won't take you long to browse. The site is set up to include some extras though, but these pages were not yet running. The Live Cams page came up blank and the links to a Forum (which would be a great idea) and the video on demand extra were not working, yet. Neither was the Hot Sites page, which I assume will be a page of links. The customer support page worked fine and this, like the rest of the site, was very basic.
