Universal Black

This is one of those sites where the tour is the same as the members’ area, so once you've had a look around and seen what’s on offer, you know what you are going to find once you are inside. And that is: the promised movies to watch in a pay per view theatre style and the little extras, links to the shops for the real DVDs, chat, and a model index. But this site doesn’t look like your standard PPV theatre, it’s got its own design and style, which makes is slightly more special than the standard template versions you may have seen before.

When you click to the Videos page you find a left list of themes, or categories if you like, and various ways to sort out the movies: you can see what’s new, what’s in the top ten, your own favourites area, the webmasters’ favourites, and you can view the main pages in two ways. That’s the first neat trick up the sleeve of the site. The Gallery view shows you nice sample shots with nine videos featured per page, and the Details view gives you one movie per page with all the viewing information and other details. So, simply select and see what comes next.

I checked out an interracial scene first and found that there are several sample pics per movie on each of the film’s viewing pages. These don’t open up larger, and they are not really a gallery as such, but they do give you choice moments from the action to come. Beneath these are your other options: you can view in Flash or Real player, add the scene to your favourites, you are told the run time and how many tickets it’s going to cost you – for tickets read tokens, or credits. Before you commit to the viewing you are asked if you are sure, so you don't spend your tickets by accident, and if you don’t have enough you get directed to the ‘buy more’ page.

While we are at the buy more page I should let you know that there are six options for adding tickets to your cart. You can start off with the least amount of payment, at $6.99 for five tickets, but this is probably the most expensive option with movies usually costing two or four tickets for a 10 to 20 minute viewing. The top of the range is $ 59.99 for 100 tickets and going for this one will bring you the best value. So, what about the movies themselves?

Well, the quality is fine and you have a choice of resolutions, from a 512K version and a 1Mb version. I tried both and obviously the larger one is better, but the smaller one, which should be fine on an ADSL connection and above, loses only a little quality at full screen. Remember that you can’t download these movies and that you pay as soon as you've decided to watch the movie, even if you don't watch all of it. But the bottom line is that you should not be disappointed.

So, you have a set of 2762 videos here and they vary in price and length, but they are all decent quality and star some very hot and often well hung ebony guys. Anything else? Well, yes. There’s a model index of 78 sexy black guys; simply click a face pic to see all of that guy’s appearances. There is also a Casting page with a few details about how you could become a Universal Black model – it’s basically an email link. You have a page showing you the exclusive DVDs from which some of the scenes on the site come, and you can link over to a store to buy the hard copy if you want to.

I also found a Chat page here, one which linked me to a large social area from Citebeur.com, it was in French and, unlike your main site where you have a choice of five languages to view the site in, I didn’t see a way of changing the language – maybe you can once you are inside. Your main site also has lots of help and support links and updates appear to be happening as promised - you can check them out at the home page; and that brings us back to where we started.
