Has anyone else encountered this with .wmv files? What a colossal headache!! Does anyone know a way to "crack" these files or any workaround at all? I'm trying to avoid all my videos becoming unusable once I stop paying membership fees at a site. It would also be nice to have some privacy. I'm sure I'm not alone! Replies welcome, thanks! |

I can't help you with your question, but I can tell you that I sympathize, I hate DRM as well. It's the very first thing I look for when reading a site review. If it's DRM protected, I'll pass the site over immediately. I like to get to keep what I paid for. I guess some folks think that's a little selfish or something. |

As a reviewer I can say that I understand why these pay sites add DRM, but I can also see your side as well, and we aren't exempt from it. When doing reviews we have to go into many videos to get the specs that helps you to know more about what's offered, and we too have to go through adding username and password over and over. |

Hi DRM total ball-ache. My solution use my digi video cam set to 60hz and voila! Obviously you need a good monitor and watch the lighting etc, but works for me |

There is screen capture software out there, but the ones I have seen require a really strong computer--one with the latest and greatest processor and absolutely nothing else running in the background. |

Hi I have tried various video capture software over the years, which claim to record DRM video and none have worked. Also the time to process the files takes hours. I was a member of VideosZ at the time when they introduced DRM. I was so annoyed I cancelled my membership. I can understand why some sites use DRM, but most use it as a way to keep you subscribing, it is almost like blackmail. I do not like the idea that all the content I might have downloaded, after months of subscribing, is useless if I ever cancel my membership. I also find it annoying that to view the download video, one has to be connected to the net and enter usernames and passwords. One good thing is PornInspector shows if a site has DRM video, I will always avoid sites that use it now. Many thanks to PornInspector for saving me money. |

I didn't understand the whole DRM aspect when I first started doing the reviews, but now, thanks to PI I understand a lot more then I ever did when it comes to viewing porn and what people like and dislike. I too am happy with the things that PI give as far as information instruments, not all sites do that. I always try to mention in my write up as well if that little goody of a nuisance is present. |
