The first thing that struck me about JAV Hub — aside from the beautiful Asian models and lack of genital pixelation, of course — was the eclectic nature of its archives. The front page was a testament to the wild and diverse tastes of East Asians, showcasing previews of scenes that range from your expected intimate one-on-one bedroom encounters to rabid group sex in dirty fitness centers. I quite like these more fantastic scenarios myself. They're fun and they put a spotlight on the site's excellent wardrobe and prop department. A scene featuring the lovely Urara Motomura, for instance, takes place in a gloom, rather real looking prison — to say this played a part in setting the mood would be an understatement. And I suppose it goes without saying that there are more than a few cos-play scenes here.

And while it might sound complicated, navigating such a whirlwind of kinks and fetishes, it's actually quite simple. Whoever designed the site obviously believed in a minimalist approach, as they've went for a main menu with three buttons(Home, Scenes, Models) a very basic keyword search, and not much else. Works like a charm, too, on desktops and mobile devices alike.

Speaking of the main menu, from the jump I was awfully keen to click that button labeled "models" and find out just what kind of Asian is on the menu. As it turns out, the model index is comprised of 176 hotties, every last one of 'em Japanese, just as the tour page promised us. Other than variation in age, figure, and skintone, the underlying quality shines through and is consistent from model-to-model. These are total babes.

As I write this there are 535 videos to choose from, and damn near since the site's inception they have been served up in the site's patented format of long running times(think an hour+) and multiple HD playback options to enjoy it all in. Download speeds usually lie somewhere between 10-11 megs-per-second, so I recommend you treat yourself to the deluxe 1080p HD option, but if for whatever reason you simply must go lower, they have you covered with lower bitrate 1080p and 720p options as well 480p and 360p SD files. Streaming is, admittedly, a tad less flexible with the only three options being High-Quality, Stream, and Mobile. All in all, though, I think these are a good range of bandwidth choices in a pinch.

Production values are quite good. Nothing overtly flashy, just everything professionally lit and smoothly edited, treating the viewer to smooth transitions from each picturesque view of the action. Some of the more outlandish scenes are borderline cinematic in their approach, and were it not for the site's watermark in the bottom corner, you'd swear you were watching kinky Japanese television.

Each scene coming with its own picture gallery was a nice touch. Right out the gate they were offering high-resolution(2,000 x 3,000 pixel) images and they have even upgraded a few times in the last two years, which is how we have arrived at the current 3,000 x 2,250 dimensions up for grabs. There are usually well over 100 gorgeous action shots in each set, too, so you get a lot of variety.

It is always refreshing when a site gives me very little to gripe about, and I am happy to report that this is one of those rare occasions. Personally, I can see making the argument that the site's navigation is too minimalistic, but not so much that it's a true hinderance to the browsing experience. Other than that, the lack of bonus content is, admittedly, a bit of a bummer. But when a site is so on-point with its regularly delivered original content, can you really be all that angry at them for not throwing extras at you, too?

No, the site's only Achilles heel, if you can call it that, is the abundance of Japanese dialogue here that is not at all supported by English subtitles. If you can let the plots go and just enjoy the sex, though, you're in for one major Japanese porno treat.
