Barefoot Confidential

Barefoot Confidential were wise enough to go for more a user-friendly setup. At the top of the page you'll find your main menu, which has wisely limited itself to the bare necessities: Home, Movies, Photos, Porn Stars, and Search. If you'd prefer, you can even forgo the whole menu ordeal and just dig straight into the content, because they've presented it nicely in the center of the page. Simple but effective.

Since they're basically the foundation of the site, I figured I'd check out the "Porn Stars" tab first. Well, there are a whopping 259 of them, and let me tell you — they're a top-notch lot. I mean, with such a large number of gals, you'd think there would be a fair share of ugly ducklings in the lot. That's not the case here, however. These cats really seem to have set their standards high and, luckily for us, they stuck to them.

They also managed to snag quite a big names, like Sasha Grey, a gal whose tootsies I've always thought were terrific. On that note, I don't recall seeing very many rough or mangled looking feet, so they must have kept their standards pretty high there, too. Many people in the fetish get off on that sort of thing, but this site is pretty mainstream, so I totally understand.

The content itself is, for the most part, surprisingly good. In some of the videos you can tell a lot of money went into production; the camera work, lighting, editing — even the acting — are all up to what you'd expect from a good XXX DVD. Strangely, though, in other videos, you get more of a personal sort of vibe, particularly in the ones where they're doing a one-on-one interview/strip-down with a model. It's an odd mixture for sure, but not one that I mind. In a way, it's almost like having two sites in one.

One thing they've absolutely nailed, though, is that they never forget their main objective: maintaining focus on the the feet. All too often in this genre, I'll see foot fetish scenes where things go into full-fledged-fucking mode, and the feet are just kind of forgotten. Here, they always manage to zoom in the the gal's feet. I must have seen dozens of amazing sole shots in the last half hour alone. Speaking of which, I hope I'm not giving the impression that this is just some softcore site where you look at women's feet and that's it. There's a lot naughty stuff going on here, and they cover all the old favorites, e.g., trampling and foot-jobs. They even manage to fit in a story every now and then. But who cares?

As of yet, they've managed to produce 309 episodes. Their archives date all the way back to 2004, and they've pretty much kept a rock solid weekly update schedule since then. That's impressive. What's not impressive, however, is that a lot of their videos just don't look like they've progressed that much in the way of quality. First off, you're given the option of streaming the video, which worked effortlessly through the embedded flash player they supplied. Download speeds here are tremendous, averaging 1.2 megabytes-per-second. Which is all the more reason they should utilize that and up the video quality some. Don't get me wrong, what they have is fine. But they really do need to consider offering an H.D. quality option. It's just a must now a days. In their defense, though, they do at least offer up an iPod friendly file. Nevertheless, I'm giving the video section a solid B-.

The photo galleries, in terms of quality, were much more consistent. Sadly, there are far less of them, totaling around 73 or so. Worse yet, they haven't updated them since 2008! Nevertheless, the images they used to upload had a width of 1,500 pixels, and if it weren't for the ill-placed watermark, I'd rate them much higher. The photographers really had a knack for this, and knew how to get you those shots that make you just wanna blast it all over the screen. Before I forget, the photos can be viewed via a java slide-show, or downloaded in the entirety in either a ZIP or mobile-friendly file.
